Guangzhou (Canton), a prosperous metropolis full of vigor, is the capital city of Guangdong Province located along the south coastline of China. Being an excellent port on the Pearl River navigable to the South China Sea, and with fast accessibility to Hong Kong and Macau, the city serves as the political, economic, scientific, educational and cultural center in Guangdong area. Being the first cities benefited from the Reform and Opening Up policy since 1978, the city acts as the pioneer of the economic development of the country, with numerous enterprises, which offer many job opportunities and make the city a heavily populated area. Guangzhou is especially prosperous in commerce, tourism, dining, finance and real estate. For travelers, the city shows much attraction through its famous sights such as the Five Ram Statue in Yuexiu Park, Pearl River and White Cloud Mountain.

There are two ways to reach Guangzhou-广州 by flight or bullet train if you are in China. I get Guangzhou from Yangshuo-阳朔 by the bullet train about two hours on board, cost around 17USD. The train is so comfy and comfortable with the good services. Arrived to GZ my best girlfriend came to pick me up at Guangzhou south railway station, time was stick like you took an airplane. This is a huge railway station I have ever seen, there are more than 32 gates is bigger 3 or 4 time than Cambodian’s airport, I almost got lost there, too big to find the gates. I had to line up about an hour to get the ticket, there are tons of people queue and they have to process one by one passenger, but if you are local you can access through the auto purchase machine with the ATM card. My experience if your boarding time for instance is 3pm you have to get to the railway station one or two hours ahead avoiding late on board. If I can remember well, Guangzhou is the 3rd big city in China, it seems nothing to do in this huge city, take pics, get around, sampling their street food, experience with the Metro that’s it. Everyone is rushed on their way to work not quite different from Hongkong-香港, people is more likely the robot, quick walking put the earplug and rushed all the times. I had a half day tour on my own since my girlfriend she was working, she gave me the Metro card, so I could go anywhere in GZ without buying the tickets. I just got quick visit the Canton Tower, I had to take many stops from my friend’s place to Canton Tower stop, you just know how to take the Metro that’s all.

Canton Tower in day time-广州塔

Most of tourist gathering there for the photos, it’s hard to have the nice spot from the whole Canton tower, it needs selfie skill when I am so damn in selfie. There is no backpacker there only some tourist and expat, because there is nothing to do there, but why I was there first of all is to see my girlfriend and second is Canton tower as what people says is nice tower.

Canton tower in night time

It has the colorful and rainbow Canton tower at night time. The view from the building is so stunning was the great time to grab the photos. The skyline from the top buildings in Guangzhou is playing their lightening is pause me for a while to lock eyes on it. May be night time was the great time for me in Guangzhou, it sounds nothing especial but just try to visit once in your lifetime for those iconic buildings.

Beijing street food-北京路

When you visit Guangzhou don’t miss this street food in Beijing street-北京路 about 3 or 4 stops from Guangzhou canton tower stop. The whole street has so many ancient buildings, tasty food, and you can feel like you were in Beijing. The foods are so tasty with the reasonable price, I have tried too many foods, some spicy, some really has strong smell but all foods are awesome. Not only in Beijing street most of the street in Guangzhou has tons of stores are selling foods and beverages. Even Guangzhou is the huge city full of expat but people is still limited of speaking English is better that I can speak Mandarin with them.
