Here I’m going to share you my driving experiences in the foreign countries. There is not the good idea to drive on the road without international license, but in some cases I did. I have been done driving experiences in some countries such:

Thailand-Chiangmai

I rent a bike and ride to the northern of Thailand, this was so creepy to drive in the opposite way from your country, we keep on right side as Cambodia’s driving, while Thai’s people drive on left. Just keep in mind you are in Thailand must be keep left if so you are really in trouble and risky.

Vietnam-HCM-Hanoi

A huge reputation we’ve heard Vietnamese people’s driving is like the hell, but quite similar to Cambodia too haha, if you dare to drive or grab a motorbike in HMC you are surely a hero. I brave enough to ride a motorbike across the city, god bless that you don’t see me in the hospital, renting motorbike is cheaper than you grab the taxi. Last few years taxi scam around the HCM but right now I don’t know that it has changed or still.

In Hanoi ride up to the hill, tea plantation with foggy, cloudy. I could see only one meter in front of me, the weather was so freezing with low temperature, I’ve driven with shaking body and I got lost for 1 hour to reach my hotel.

Indonesia-Jogja

Jogja is the city where the people are so calm, take things slowly, no aggressive, helpful with smile. I feel comfortable to drive over there, but still slow driving and keep in mind they drive on left side. It’s the long ride ever for total 100Km from the city to Prambanan &Borobudur temples, not sure it’s the long ride for other travelers, because some they did 500Km a day.

Here are some advises if you plan to do driving in foreign countries, is still so dangerous, first thing when you are not familiar with the traffic law &regulations, second thing if you don’t have the international driving license, when the polices catch you, you can be jailed. But adventure is adventure no pain no gain. But your own safety is your own responsibility.
