Macau is the huge city of casinos, restaurants, shopping, five stars hotel, Macau has the Portuguese colonial architecture and contemporary casinos, also a fascinating of mix cultures.

I was landed in Macau, it was my first time here. I have been in Hong Kong for twice but always missed out to visit Macau so this time I made it. As we do not have to apply visa ahead, it’s visa on arrival to Macau, the immigration police required me to show my passport, so I had to pay 100HK (Dollars) to get entry Macau. He was asking me how much cash did I bring, I replied just now I had 500HK (Dollars) he continued: you had only 500HK (dollars) cash with, how can you survive in Macau, I said do I have to bring tons of cash with when the world is digital right now, just easy to bring the visa card or debit card?? Then he accepted that what I said was right, such as the ridiculous immigration uncle. Before I visited Macau, I supposed to earn more stamps and chop on my passport, but there were no any stamps just the letter of approval to entrance Macau. I caught the bus from airport to the city with no idea where to dropped, lucky me I met a little boy was about 19 years old he gave a hand to help me a lot. It was the rainy day in June, I got the hard time to explore this city, just find the place to eat and escape from the shower raining. You will surprise with the price on the menu, one meal cost me 20USD-30USD. Macau’s people more likely look down to people who is backpacking, yeah here I am as a backpacker to Macau that’s what the immigration police has stopped me and asked about my cash available haha.

I did not see other backpackers in Macau only me, otherwise I don’t really have much interesting about Macau too, just to get to know and see another part of world of lifestyle and living. As it was raining I was stuck in, couldn’t make any sightseeing in town, waiting for the rain has stopped and caught the speed boat to Hong Kong. So, Macau to me for the first time was nothing in head.

How to cross from Macau to Hong Kong

There are free buses lines in Macau from town to Macau ferry terminal (Wan Gang Ke/湾港客 ferry terminal) buy the ticket about 135HKD one way, the journey is about 60-75minutes depends on the sea condition or your ticket is normal or speedy one. As Cambodian, I have to apply visa before entrance to HK.
