I have been to Myanmar for twice, last time I was on solo to Yangon and Mandalay city. Here is my second time been visiting Myanmar, Bagan old town. I and my two besties we were setting the plan to Bagan, Myanmar, was the first trip for them. We took sleeping bus from Phnom Penh to Bangkok and stay a night there, next day we flew from Bangkok to Yangon, arrived there around afternoon, we having lunch and caught another night bus to Bagan, such as along trip right.
Mostly on traveling we used the roaming service direct from our Cambodian’s sim card, was charged 1USD unlimited data in a day, but in Yangon costing up to 10USD, we could afford it but wasn’t worth to spend it. Sometime we should learn how to disconnect from the internet world, so relaxing with no connecting.
Arrived to Bagan old town bus stop, people will be going to ask you if you need the transport services, they had choices, taxi or horse riding? Then, why not horse? It was amazing experience for horse riding transport, only in Bagan. People there are really nice, with beautiful smile even they could speak a little English, from bus stop to our hotel a bit far, I felt pity to the horse, we think next time no more horse riding and another animal transportation.
Bagan is ancient town and world heritage site in Myanmar. The city was the capital of the Pagan kingdom. This temple town is the main attraction place in Myanmar, Bagan is worth visiting don’t miss it, if you plan to visit Myanmar in one day.
We checked in and took a nap before wander to the city, the foods were really delight and tasty.
We could see people there do not like drinking coffee in the morning, instead of Myanmar’s beer, even lunch time and dinner, they consumed beer a lot. We sat next to Myanmar’s people, starting order foods, like bbq, fried veggies, soup and Myanmar’s beer with big bottles, then, the guy came up and asking us, where were you from? They started guesting from Thailand, Vietnam? We responded from Cambodia. The next question, Cambodian’s lady can drink beer? We stared at them, Why not? Haha we were over 18 years old man, old enough to consume beer.
Next day, we hired E-bike cycling around the temple town, that huge temple town, at least you have to spend a week to visit the whole site. We were cycling and got some photos, the best sceneries of Bagan old town, you have never ever seen before, deep breathing with carefree. People were waiting for the sunset and capturing the best photos from those temples, some temple are playing hide and seek, when you look from the far distance you cannot see any temple, but once you close to there a lot temple around.
It was really safe in Bagan, Myanmar at that time, you don’t have to worry riding bike at nigh time, anyways foods are good, people are good, temples are best and Myanmar’s beer is awesome. I love Myanmar! But for some people do not like seeing ancient temples or histories site then, this article is not for you.
In thinking, Myanmar was really cheaper than our Phnom Penh city, so whenever we checked bill, always with Tips, we were the rich ones at that time haha. So back to the airport I only have some cash with, not enough even buying Ramen noodles.
