DO and DON’T

DO

-Watch out your value stuff in public such: iphone, ipad, camera,Gopro…..

-Asking road people if you need the help, they are willing to give a hand

-Bargain for some local market, especially [new central market]] at least 30% off

-Bring your hostel or hotel name card in case you get lost, local and policeman will give you the supporting

-Try our ethnic food as recommended (Amok, Bok Kapi,Korko,Brohok dot)

-Get a Simcard easy to access 3G or 4G without passport costs only 1$ or2$, wifi is available most of the places anyway

-Visit our landmarks and sightseeing ( S21 prison, Killing field, Royal palace, Wat phnom, Independent monument,Phnom Oudong, Phnom reap,

-Bring USD currency is appreciated anywhere in Cambodia, but you can also exchange our Riel currency if you would like 1USD=4000Riel (Approximate)

– Bring small money with, some of small vendors have no change for your big note

-Cycling around the city save environment and no traffic

-aware of transportation in Phnom Penh, easy to access to shuttle bus Tuk Tuk (Passapp or Grab App) is popular and taxi is expensive

-Night life on street 136, 51, 172,178 and along the riverside as well

-Understanding English and Chinese is spoken widely here

-Bring sunblock, umbrella, cap as it is so heat in Phnom Penh, rainy season start from ending of June

-Do volunteering if you have sometime there are many small organizations and orphanages they need the help even a week

DON’T

-Flash your big money

-Talk on phone while on Tuk Tuk

-Get the small bag when going out

-Keep the passport in one place with money when you are hanging out or drink

-Walk into the darkness place

-Talk about the political

-Talk dirty to the girl or teasing her, Cambodian girls keep conservative still

-Try weed here is illegal but if you are ready to take risk then enjoy it

-Easy to trust road people some they come to you in purpose

-Wear short in temple or other Buddhist places

-Speak loud or aggressive action, people here talk softly

-Smoke in public you are going to fine

-Give money to street kids, if you want to help them bring some foods not money

-Try the street food in Phnom Penh, I am sorry here because it is not clean at all but if you wish take it on your own risk
