Camping is one of my buckets list. I have been trying kayaking, hiking, climbing and to do anything that is special with my own risk. I have seen posting on Facebook about the Cambodia-Camping, sounds interesting to me was leaded by Cambodian. In basically, I would love to do camping once in lifetime. So, I started to book for this camping will be hold in mid of July, cost about 65USD all in prices. Anyways I supposed to do camping on my own adventuring but it

sound wasn’t safe for female solo to stay camping in the thick forest ever, the final decision is joining with the teams it’s probably safer than. The bus was off from Phnom Penh to Sre Ormbil-Koh Kong where the camping spot is, I had one of my friend with we didn’t know anyone here, but quickly we had made friends very easily. Most of them were young generation I was look like the senior ones but staying with them I felt young enough haha………… they were so funny, we had made fun along the way to Sre Ormbil. We had one stop for lunch time, got like the basic and local food, but it was so tasty. Bus took us to the community where we had to take the motorbike driving up to the hill, everyone had to carry their own stuff like backpack, tent, sleeping stuff, blanket and the most important thing we had to bring up was water mixed with Royal D to keep our energy.

The road was so bumpy, rocky, up and down I was so excited to see the scenery but at the same time I was scary about the leeches, it was the nightmare for me, how much I wish not seeing all those even leech or water leech.

I was praying before I decided to join this camping, I heard from people that leeches are most likely live in the humidly, muddy forest. It’s worthwhile to leave the comfort zone for adventuring, experiencing in the forest life, we walked about 5Km to where we camping, on the way was muddy, a bit shower sometimes it reminded me about leeches but I tried to stay in control of my nervous, leech is the one thing I really hate to see it in my life even I never suck by it. We had a small break after we all worn out, and need to take some Royal D water to stay hydrate. Suddenly, I was token off my boots Oh no, what’s the hell….it was like something stick on my feet, I just screamed out hard with all my power, I broke my voices at that time, I couldn’t scare anymore than this then other member was tried to take it out from me and said: here is [what you hate is what you meet] when other people wanted to see it but got no chances.

We kept moving on, but it was not easy to walk with thorny everyone got scratches on body. Eventually, we reached to our camping place, stunning views with the green forest flowers, I just fell in love in its natural way. We built the campfire with the larger pieces of wood to cook our chicken sticks, awesome it was awesome like what I had imagined about before I booked this camping trip. People were sitting around the campfire and cooking meal together, the most amazing things that keep us on fire was so many boxes of beers haha………. We put the beers in the cold water was flowing down from the mountain, yeah it was a good day and good life. we enjoyed eating, drinking, laughing and talking about many topics, finally we ended up with shit-faced. Honestly, I was a bit scary while camping in the forest then I just got it through. The next morning, I woke up early and wait for sunrise, staying with the natural is the best therapy ever, it’s how we stay away from the doctors.

We sat down and having our breakfast was not anything else but just only instant noodles, we boiled water with the old big pot I have ever seen, it looked interested, we had to adapt with any situations, I like to wake up with these kind of feeling and views. After having some coffee, we had a small group meeting to decide whether to walk up 20Km to the waterfall or go to the beach, most of us voted for waterfall so our team leader just to follow the majority. The first start everyone looked so energy but later on hehe………we kept stopping, drinking water, resting all most the time, it was about 20Km and we were not sure that we were on the right way,

we started blurry couldn’t picture the way to the fall but we won’t give up cox we couldn’t give up, whether kept going on or stopped in the middle of the way………. It was heavy rain, I had no raincoat with since everyone

had…………..what’s the lucky day! Anyways we still kept our paces on, we found waterfall was hidden in the thick forest after our hard worked, exciting, fearing, scaring and feel blessing after all. Through this camping I have learnt a lot about life experiences, how to live your life with nothing, there is no your brand coffee, your fancy restaurant, no data connection, no social media, no email when it disconnects you from the busy &noisy world, just step out from your comfort zone you will see the new world, how people helping each other when we are in the forest, I love when people talk to the ones who sits next to them.

I have made good friends who is caring me when I was in unhelpful conditions. It was my first camping ever and I would love to do it more and more sooner or later. I would like to say thank to my team leader [Makara] and people I have met through this camping trip you guys make my day!
