Bangkok

From Bangkok to Phnom Penh took 14 hours or more it depends on road condition, it costs about 50USD for round ways, sometimes it spent 3 or 4 hours at the border. Bangkok is a modern city, sky ways BTS, MRT subways, Shuttle bus is very conveniences to go anywhere. tall buildings, tremendous of landmarks, sightseeing, ton of street foods that what I love the most, dried squid, grill octopus, papaya salad with chicken all the tastes are awesome.

Pratunam market is claimed as the one biggest shopping for local and foreigner, so fashion and crowed where you find many Cambodian people there. Bangkok people not really speak English sometimes we have a hard time to communicate. 5 minutes walked to BTS from where I stayed [Siam Stars Hotel] 10 minutes to Big C mall plenty of cosmetics products and lady beauty stuff, Platinum shopping mall just 5-minute walk too where is the men fashion with reasonable price.  Many choices of hostel at Khaosan road, Pratunam, Arab Street, Nana station, Sukhumvitt district. If you are looking for crowed, loud music, beers, multi-nations go to Khaosan road with affordable price.

If you want to burn some of your money here is some fascinating shopping mall: Big C, Central world, MBK, Siam paragon, India square, Khaosan, China town, Platinum, Terminal 21 and Chaktuchak weekend market. Some sightseeing:  Royal palace, Wat pho, Wat Arun, Floating market but it’s quite far from town. About one hour drive and costs 5USD to get floating market then take boat to the site.

Chiangmai

Many routes to reach Chiangmai by air, bus, train……

By air: 1 hour flight with domestic costs 60-100usd depends on low or high season.

By bus: 10 hours’ drive with the seat you can lay down 75% it charges 35usd.

By train: Take a taxi or BTS to Hua lomphong rail way with soft sleeping takes 14 hour costs 30usd for one way.

Where to stay in Chiangmai,

I would like to recommend you to [Nalin] guesthouse where I have a good experience with, good service, good smiling on face, Clean room, awesome location with reasonable price. Sightseeing and landmark spot just another step from guesthouse. Wat Chiangman, Wat Chediluang, Wat doi suthep, Wat phra singh ect…………. if you arrive there at noon time you can take a half day tour to see handicraft stuff, Busan umbrella village where the Thailand culture is. North gate pub is one of popular place in Chiangmai no seat for guest since people moving to there and standing for beers. I just standing there and grab some beers with Jazz music, its good way to make new friends with good minded-people. All clubs in Thailand not allow guest under 18 years old to show up for dancing and drinking. They will check your ID or passport if you are foreigner and chop you to verify you are adult [over 18 years old], sound ridiculous to me.

Chiangmai railway experience

I have been traveling to CM for twice, the first experience I did with train, it took about 14 hours with VIP class, 100% sleeping. It took quite long way but you will never miss a stunning view look through the train windows. I woke up early sit close to the window and sipping my coffee what’s a peaceful mind! Mountain, Stream, Valley, Forestry, the best experience ever, do not miss it.

Chiangrai

I took a day tour costs 20usd 4-hour driving at the first stop white temple or heaven temple as what people named it there, nice structure with fantastic designs. It’s the long history about white people the meaning of white temple is [Heaven Temple]

if you have sin or do a bad thing you never get into the temple, seeing walking and some capturing photos then head to black temple it’s all about culture, structure and stuff there tell a story. Move to golden triangle where the border between Laos and Myanmar.

Golden triangle previously was a heroin field the big spot of doing drug traffic in the black market, but nowadays it becomes a sugar cane farm. High spot to see the river routes some people they dropped by here and took a slow boat to Laos.  The long neck village was the last stop of tour to see their living, doing business and some story about them.

Doi Inthanon

About 2-hour on road from Chiangmai, there are two waterfalls along the way to Doi Inthanon one of them was hiding in the forest you need to go down and find it. Bring thick jacket since it’s about 7 degrees at the peak of the mountain, then moving to the highest spot in Thailand look down its stunning views close your eyes deep breathing bloody cold over there. I was wearing short since the climate was 7 degree it was better I covered up with my scarf. There are two temples one is named king another named as Queen, the king and queen temples were standing in front of each other, surrounding with many kinds of flowers, stunning view from the top of the mountain, colorful ever you will never stop a minute to capture.

Along the way on traveling I met many good heart people, we exchanged culture, languages, history, and end up with smiling.

Royal Rajapruek

To get there rent a Tuk Tuk or Taxi, it cost 15usd for whole day. Royal Rajapruek is the national park about 1 hour drive from downtown, it’s a vast flower park you spent at least 4 hours to walk around. Many kinds of flower with the amazing decoration and well-organizing, blue, green, red, purple, pink, white so colorful, you cannot be named it what’s this or what’s that flower?

There is one big restaurant inside the park it named [Royal Project Kitchen] delicious dishes but a bit expensive. One huge temple stands in the middle of the park, I heard from people before it was a house for the former king. You will pay 3usd for entrance ticket, mission was completed hope you guys enjoy reading.
