Sapa is standing in the northern of Vietnam, about 5 hours from Hanoi. I would recommend here to take the train instead of bus. When I visited Sapa I took the bus because my very late flight to Hanoi I couldn’t catch the train schedule on time. First arrived to Sapa I just simply love it this cool town in temperature about 8-13c it was freezing.

First day of the tour we did trekking to the native villages about 15Km walking from our hotel. I stayed in the [Elite hotel] was reviewed in the great score. We had the awesome and handsome tour guide with; he speaks pretty good English.

Along the way we talked and laughed, I love to hear people stories and histories. He tried to explain me what was going on about those villages, rice terrace, and how people were living here with their small town. I did enjoy it so much, before left the hotel on route to village he told me [you should put on walking boots, glove, walking stick, that could make you safer than, because here was the valley, stream and the road was too slippery, muddy, all up and down, make sure you are safe in any circumstance] I responded to him at that time, yeah, no worry I would be okay with my walking shoes. He continued are you sure? You didn’t want the boots. I said well, I am sure.

The trekking was started down to the village roads, we walked about 2-3km I was okay with my shoes, after that I felt like I couldn’t control my body any more, oh man it was so slippery and super muddy. I tried the best at that time to make myself steady, but…………. unfortunately, I fell down and I tried to grab the plant even though I was hurt by its thorn.  Finally, I slipped down to the valley, two of my friends tried hard to pull me up. And I was just like no words to say, too scary. I was shocked and didn’t move. Then the tour guide and other trekkers laughed at me hard. He said see that’s what you did not believe me, as the result you fell down. I just put my face down and said it was my fault man, I should listen to you and I was so embarrassed when people looked at me like the idiot.

So, the next path to the village I walked very slowly, the villager came to hold my hands and walked with me. My friends would say nothing they just giggle and stared at me. This moment always stays in my memories when I was talking about Sapa. This is the good experience too that you should listen to the tour guide or locals advising.

Traveling is to take risk and do something that special but not that stupid.

Remember this you travel on your own risk. Make sure you have bought the travel insurance.
