About 20Km from Phnom Penh, there is palm village is located along the way to [Tonle Bati] commune. You can easily get there by google map or waze brings you straight there but if you don’t know how to use those app let keep on the Norodom street to [Chak Angre Krorm] to [Ta Kmao] city then keep right till you reach to [Tom Nob Kau Srov] it’s roundabout take the second right side and straight you will see the sign [Phum Thnort/Palm Village] on the left side, get in about another 2Km the palm village is there.

You have to pay 2000Riel=0.50cents for the entrance ticket, people are going there for the weekend, there is the local market just a few steps from the bungalow, you can get the very local foods with the reasonable price, and some food you cannot find somewhere in Phnom Penh. A lot of bungalows are standing on both side, the owner is going to charge 5$ for each bungalow you either order foods from them or buy from the local market, it’s your choices. Of course, if you order from the bungalow price is a bit higher than, but it’s still a good deal.

There are probably ten stores at the market, they are selling such grilled fishes, Cambodian-Cheese [Brohok] fried big ant’s roe with vegetable and some other ethnic foods. So, people can escape from the busy Phnom Penh spending time with family and relaxing with fresh air.

Most of the time we spend our lunch break there, by leaving Phnom Penh about 10am and supposed to get there at 11am then be ready for lunch, eating and chitchat with friends or family’s members, some they play cards not gambling no betting just for fun. You can head back to town at 3pm or 4pm or whenever just make sure get to the town before 5pm is the busiest traffic.

If you can bring your kids with is also fun for them too, it has the swimming pools but your children are on your own risk, here the pool has put more chlorine in case you don’t want your kids to attach with it. Anyway, don’t forget to try their shave-ice dessert it’s best with palm sugar and fresh coconut milk. I am writing this article just want to promote our best place for the local or expat who is living in Phnom Penh, when you get a hard time to decide where to go on the weekend.
