Street art is one of my bucket lists, and it has known as the world heritage of Penang Malaysia. Many of my friends have been there, so why not me?

About 20km from airport to downtown, you have two options here by taxi costs you 35MYR or by shuttle bus 3MYR [Rapid Penang Bus] every 15minutes. Bus will stop you at Kamta Pusat bus station, look around then you will see [CAT] for free shuttle bus in town, catch the bus at stop #9, I booked hostel with [Just Inn] so it was located at stop #14.

I would like to recommend you here [Just Inn hostel] is the best place to stay, the owner was really warm greeting, nice guy and helpful. He was trying to introduce me about Penang and some attractive places, he speaks English and Mandarin as well.

Transportation in Penang is very convenience and affordable, every landmark and the world heritages can reach by bus. I stayed in female dormitory was 7USD with A/C that is not bad, I have made friends with some Chinese girls, and we are all female solo. That was great that the world heritage street art just 5 minutes away from the hostel.

Early morning, I and one girl was from China, we went for breakfast, the Penang recipes was plenty and tasty. You would fall in love with all the foods here, that is what people say Penang is the world of delicious foods. My Mandarin is pretty good so was not the fence for me to make connection with other people, as I saw people there 80% are Hokkien, 10% Malaysian and the rest number is Indian. Well, you can speak English in Penang, but if you want to go more detail then, Mandarin is must. The living standard is comparing to Cambodia still cheaper, one breakfast costs 5MYR with the nice meal. In day time was so quiet no people walking on the road, seem like slower business and not many people, just some of traveler and backpacker.

George Town is where the street art is, it has two lanes separating for wall painting you have to watch closer to find the painting, some was hiding in the corner, so it was like you were playing seek and hide. I was so excited to see street arts, many capturing on my smartphone, but there was one I love the most [Sister and Brother on the bicycle] was touching me.

The weather heats me I was worn out and looking for some cold drink, I found the ice shave store by accidentally, oh my goodness look so yummy, I ordered the [Dragon ice ball] was 6MYR with the difference tastes in one bowl, I did not know how to feel it, kind of sweet, sour, menthol and spicy. Ice shave is one of special menu in Penang too.

Back to hostel and got some nap saving energy for night time wandering, hunting for street food. Actually, I found one guy from Couch surfing [CS] he picked me up at the hostel then brought me to the ethnic foods, took me around the city to see nightlife in Penang. It was so weird to me no people in day time but oh god…………there was tons of people coming out at midnight. Beer is not banned here but just too expensive to grab haha, when you were here in Penang don’t forget to try [WHITE COFFEE] is not kidding here, the very first time to me people asked, would you like to try our white coffee, I replied what? white coffee? Was like coffee milk or milk coffee, right? They said no it was the original white coffee and you only could find here in Penang, oh well give me a try then, but I personally still prefer Vietnamese coffee.

Penang is pretty small town you can get around with your own, or by using other map apps from your smartphone. The super cute bicycles are available for renting in downtown, 10MYR for one bicycle. There are so many historic bridges in Penang it has shown in map.

Next morning, I ended up to the Chinese historic temple it named [Kak Lok Si] temple. I just walked up to the mount and had no idea about history because there was no guide, I definitely just took the pictures and get back to the town.

Noted here if you are durian lover you must come to Penang is the best durian in SEA has known as King of Durian. The trip was ended and I am so happy to make some friends there like Alex, Magarate, and Jessy they are kinds and open-mined people, it was my pleasure to meet them. Special thanks to Alex you made my beautiful days in Penang. Traveling is always bringing the new stories and I become a storyteller, learn new things, have real experiences with local and sampling the ethnic foods.
