Battambong province is standing about 325Km from Phnom Penh, takes 6 hours on driving on national road #5. I made road trip with my friends, we were leaving from town at 6.30am not so much traffic jam. We stopped by Kampong Chhnang province for the breakfast, the road condition was not so good a bit bumpy and had some puddles. Independence monument The Independence Monument (Vimean Ekareach) was inaugurated on November 9, 1962 to celebrate the independence from the French in 1953, but now also serving as a cenotaph to Cambodia?s war dead. Kampot is the small town about 30Km from Kep. It gets easily from Phnom Penh by bus costs 5USD, the bus will stop at town or if you want to get there quick then take the van is costs about 7USD but you can save time.
